There’s an article about my foray into eating Norfolk on page 3 of today’s Eastern Daily Press. Perfectly outrageous comments about Page Three Girls have been made on Twitter and by most of my stockists when I phoned round for this morning’s orders. Some have even managed to work oats into their witticisms – yes I’m talking about you @mattjware, get to the back of the class.
If you’d like to see how I, ahem, shape up, you can either grab a real copy from your newsagent or the EDP do a great facsimile service where you can see the whole paper from front to back for just 50p. http://www.edp24.co.uk/content/edp24/default/eedition
Edit – it’s now on-line too http://www.edp24.co.uk/content/edp24/news/story.aspx?brand=EDPOnline&category=News&tBrand=EDPOnline&tCategory=xDefault&itemid=NOED21%20Jan%202010%2017:17:12:937
How are you going to get your vitamin C? Try these as a subsititute;

I was planning on nibbling my way through a few Booja Booja – but does chocolate have Vitamin C? Excellent news if so!
We moved to Norfolk 4 years ago and quickly realised you could find most food localy produced. That is what we have been doing. We do not have any problem buying food that is not available localy at this time of year.
We buy our fish from Richard Bunnings, our fruit and veg from CC Wells, cheese from Robert Christy all at the Friday market at Dereham. Meat from Impsons butchers at Swaffham and the Manor Farm Shop at Fransham.
The sea food stall at swaffham saturday market is great . Mostly local food from local, people. Oh and our free range eggs from the egg farm in Swanton Morley( £4 a tray at the farm).
But some things are not grown and produced localy or in Britain. you shoul just buy what you cannot get. Oranges , limes & Lemons for example. It should not be a big deal.
I agree – I’m not going to go without olives forever, but I’m sure I can cope for a month. The Norfolk Diet is a challenge to myself and I hope it will be fun, I’ll discover new things and people and I suspect treat myself to little perks even more than usual (where are those Booja Booja chocolates?). I’m a hedonist at heart!
Well done for shopping so much locally.
